Should I be using narrow handlebars?

Should I be riding narrow bars? This is a question which is coming up more frequently in my bike fit studio. Are narrow bars a fad or do they help?

In over 200 bike fits, I haven’t yet recommended someone ride a wider bar than they’ve come in on. ALL my clients so far have found either their current handlebar width or a narrower one to be more comfortable and in my bike fits, comfort is key.
