What’s Involved?

As with the comprehensive bike fit, my quick bike fit will go through each of the points of contact between you and the bike. One by one, each position will be optimised to reduce strain, increase comfort and performance.

Optimising saddle height is the key stage of all bike fits, this is done first. We will then work our way through stem length and height to relax your shoulders and neck, and to reduce hand pressure. This changes your weight distribution on the bike, which affects both comfort and performance.

Your saddle positioning will be checked, both height, setback (position forward to back) and tilt

I will take videos of you during the fit but will not be providing detailed measurements.

You will receive information on any recommended component changes and their set up.

If you decide to upgrade from flat shoes to clip in, you can request a discount code after your quick fit for my cleat only service.

FAQs

  • Of course! If we start the bike fit and decide that a full bike fit would be more suitable, you can pay the difference and upgrade your bike fit on the day if there is time. If there isn’t time same day, you’ll be invited back at your convenience

  • Saddle loan is a feature of the full bike fit. If you are having considerable problems with your saddle then I suggest you book that one instead. Trying out saddles takes a significant amount of time and there may not be time in the 90 minutes allocated.

If we finish the quick bike fit and there is still time available, I can add saddle loan on for £25 plus deposit

  • Yes. All my bike fits come with a free follow up. It takes around three weeks for your body to adjust to a new position but if there is something wrong or it still needs optimising after three weeks, book a free follow up.

If you have new parts fitted, especially new handlebars, you may want to come back to have your hoods adjusted

  • A quick bike fit is for clients who want their position optimising and not for people for whom the bike is causing significant issues.

If you're experiencing any more than a slight bit of pain, then you should book in for a comprehensive bike fit. The comprehensive fit includes a physical assessment, leg length assessment, cleat positioning (left and right) and foot activation. Each of these play a part in stabilising the knee, which in turn can reduce pain
